Using #Tableau to Create Dashboards For Tracking Salesman Performance

Image

In this simple example, I was developing some ideas on how to use concepts from statistical process control theory to evaluate the effectiveness of salesman over time.

Specifically, control charts and some nice Tableau features such as maps, time sliders, and context sensitive filters are used to display spatial and temporal performance data of salesman.  This is a conceptual example only and I’m continuing to work on it, but it has already triggered some ideas for future work.   The dashboard shown above shows a control chart developed from three-month moving average sales data and the dashboard shown below compares sales data to the sales forecast and shows the difference between them on the lower chart. Click here for the latest version of this work, which is published on Tableau Public.
