Day 3 – Installing The Rebar Infrastructure
During day 3, the crew spends most of the day bending and joining together rebar to form the infrastructure of the pool. This is a physically demanding day, with the workers moving a lot of metal, bending and cutting a lot of steel, and working within the hole of the pool. This particular day was very hot and the workers were drenched with sweat all day long.
When it was finished, the pool frame was a work of art. I was amazed at their skill and creativity when it came to making the structure. They had to frame-in the seat we have in the deep end of the pool as well as the tanning ledge. The structure is elevated off of the gravel base so that the steel will be encased by the gunite.
The slideshow below documents the activities from day 3.
