Background
Time sure flies when you are having fun. In part 2 of this series, I go back in time to revisit certain key events in our lives. If you want to revisit part 1, click here. If you want to learn more about the incredibly powerful Google photos, click here.
Over the next week or so, I’m going to add another section to this article that shows another event. This way, you have to come back and visit!
I have to thank my wonderful wife Toni for finding this treasure trove of pictures. I didn’t know these existed, so it is a pleasure for me to share them.
My Approach
In this article, I have chosen to go backwards in time, starting on June 5, 1993. All of the events I’m going to show are from the time before digital cameras. All the photos included here have been scanned using the great app called photo scan.
Before you know it, we will be back in the early 1970’s. Upcoming topics include various parties and vacations. Other topics are still being processed! I hope everyone enjoys the memories!
Event 5: June 1972 – My 9th Birthday Party
Now we are flying backwards about 46 years. Some of the upcoming pictures are really testing my memory.
There was a 9th birthday party for me in Berwyn. Pictures like these make me realize how great of a life I have had due to my awesome family and friends!

Our Generation.

Granny Franny and Pat.

Looks like it was taken from the ceiling, with Dennis Petrie in the background!

Time for presents. I love the 3D wrapping paper. Looks like something we would make now in Tableau.

Mike Beyer and Fay in the background.

More presents. It looks like I enjoyed that one.

Kenny cutting the cake.

Blowing out the candles with Fay in background. Jett has these same eyes.

More presents. I’m digging the purplish pants.

More presents. A windbreaker.

Event 4: April or August 1973 A Party at Dorothy’s House Featuring Go-Go Dresses and Richard’s Famous Glug
Now we are flying backwards about 45 years. I remember Richard passing around the Glug. I don’t know what the party was for, however. There is Doris, John Bowler, Richard, and even Dennis Petrie with a Hamms beer in his hand! Can you believe that?
Check out Patti Kirkwood’s go-go dress and the other ladies in the pics. Styles sure have changed, haven’t they? I also threw in a couple of other June 1972 pictures because they were available.

Richard McMullen, the glug meister

John Bowler (?), Grandpa Gus and Doris Kirkwood

Dennis Petrie and a can of Hamms? Is that also little Debbie?

Event 3: June 1977 Ken’s 8th Grade Graduation Party at Dorothy and Dennis’s House
In today’s event, we are going back over 40 years to June, 1977. This party was given for me as I graduated 8th grade. I still have good memories of this event and I really appreciate these pictures, especially the four sister’s picture. Be sure to look at the people in the background, too.

Event 2: An August 1989 Party at Fay and Tom’s House
In today’s event, we are going backwards about 29 years to August (maybe Sept?) of 1989. In the future, I think I will be adding pictures to this set. For whatever reason, these pictures are all that I can find, but I suspect there are more of them. For now, enjoy the memories.

Event 1: June 5, 1993 – The Wedding of Brian and Karen
I believe my Mom bought these photos from the professional photographer. In a blink of an eye, nearly 25 years have flown by.

Brian and Karen on their wedding day.
Take a moment to appreciate all of our friends and family that are no longer with us. I believe that if you click on a picture, you will see the full resolution of the image. If you mouse-over the image or look at the captions, you will see the names of the people in the picture. I may not always remember everyone’s name, however, because a lot of time has passed.

Event 3: Coming Tomorrow
Simply Incredible, Uncle Ken!
Thank you!
Hi Cindy,
You will see a lot of pictures of your family in the upcoming “events”. I’m glad you like them.
Ken
Love! Thanks for sharing them.
Hi Denise,
You are welcome. There will be more to come, I promise!
